Transforming Developments, an organisation that prides itself on providing the right support for people in its supported living accommodation, were looking for a bespoke furniture solution for Chipstead Court, one of their locations in Surrey. They were looking to create a modern looking interior but, at the same time, any furniture selected had to be both robust in nature and designed with ligature risk in mind. The company approached Tough Furniture with their brief and visited our factory to discuss possible furniture solutions.
The result was a number of bespoke pieces of furniture for the 14 individual bedrooms and communal spaces. Special cabinets were built to provide storage under TVs. The bedroom furniture included beds with built-in floating bedside cabinets containing integrated electrics and wardrobes with fitted enclosed seating attached to create a “safe space” for service users.
Transforming Support decided on a Light Elm finish for all of the furniture, which fitted in well with their aim to create a bright and modern environment in Chipstead Court.
