Priors Court Fits New Residential Mental Health Furniture
We were very pleased to supply furniture for the latest development at Prior’s Court – a longstanding customer.
Prior’s Court School opened in 1999, funded by Dame Stephanie Shirley, whose vision was to create a ‘beacon’ school to improve the life chances for people with severe autism by adopting the most advanced teaching, training and supported living methods.
Starting in a magnificent Queen Anne House set in 55 acres of grounds and woodland, with the school’s success its facilities have expanded over the years to now include an education block, 14 residential houses plus 3 cottages to accommodate young adults. Every effort has gone into creating a superb all-round environment which includes an array of British arts, crafts and sculpture on display throughout the site.
Tough Furniture has regularly supplied the school since 2004 with a wide variety of specialised products, often bespoke designed and manufactured. We provided bedroom, lounge and dining room furniture for Lemon Tree, the school’s latest residential building. Nicola Dunphy of Prior’s Court commented:
‘Having recently been tasked with organising the FF&E items for our new 4 unit, 24 bedrooms residential building I had no hesitation in making Tough Furniture my first call. I wasn’t mistaken, from the very first call both Jax and Sue have helped immensely. Their patience and attention to detail are second to none, even when I was asking for my fifth quote of the day Jax in the office was always cheery and happy to help. Sue was on hand to recommend tweaks to the products we ordered and as usual, she was quite right. The delivery chaps were with us on time, worked quickly and efficiently and put up with a lot from the builders who were still with us.
The furniture itself looks fabulous and works amazingly well even with our most challenging young people. When we needed bespoke units at the eleventh hour it was no trouble and they too were delivered in superfast time with the usual efficiency. We certainly wouldn’t look anywhere else for our furniture needs, your product but more importantly, your staff are a credit to you.’
