Over the years we’ve put a great deal of effort into producing quality, well designed autism friendly furniture, to enable our clients to provide a comfortable autism friendly home. In doing so we have built up a long and wide track record supplying a variety of care providers for those on the autistic spectrum...special schools and FE colleges, charities such as The National Autistic Society, residential accommodation and parents in the home.
Our starting point has always has been homely looking furniture that’s also durable enough to cope with sometimes challenging behaviours of various kinds, and deliver excellent value for money.
More than this, our close working relationships with parents and professionals in the field combines their experience and ideas with ours to produce new autism friendly furniture designs which can transform the management of day to day problems in special needs care, to everyone’s benefit.
What this can achieve in practise is best illustrated by the first two examples on our Case Studies page: Kate’s story shows the difference that can be made in the home, while The Sunfield School project points the way to a new level for special education.
Catering for special needs often requires customised design and manufacturing which is something we are well used to, and this was recognised last year when we won a prestigious business award for ‘Technology, Enterprise and Innovation’.
Our commitment in this area complements the developments in architecture which seek to create autism friendly homes and environments, and includes Masters design research into such associated areas as colour, shape and textures.
